WHO WE ARE

Vikas Jyoti is a registered non-profit organisation devoted to the care and protection of children and their childhood. We work for the rehabilitation of children from marginalised sections of society — street children, homeless children, children from broken families, and those who have run away from home. Many of the children we support are single-parented and living in a state of deprivation.

We stand beside children who need hospital treatment when their guardians cannot afford the treatment, tests, or surgery involved. Alongside medical support, we provide funds, medicines, clothing, and primary education to these children, and food, shelter, and blankets to the attendants who accompany them.

OUR STORY

Vikas Jyoti was founded by a group of concerned citizens who saw firsthand how illness and poverty could unravel a family and push children towards neglect and vulnerability. What began as informal support for a handful of families in hospital wards has grown into a structured programme covering medical aid, education, blood donation drives, and emergency relief.

WHAT WE DO

• Support treatment, medicines, and surgery costs for children and their parents/earning members who cannot afford care.
• Provide food, shelter, blankets, and daily essentials to attendants of ailing children in hospitals.
• Run education centres for poor children, street children, and school dropouts, with free stationery.
• Arrange sponsors for bright, needy children to continue their education.
• Organise blood donation and organ donation camps, and maintain a donor database for emergencies.
• Celebrate festivals with sick children in hospitals, spreading joy and hope.

OUR APPROACH

We believe every child deserves a flourishing childhood, free of the anxieties that come from illness, poverty, or the loss of a parent's income. By stepping in early — with medical aid, education, and emotional support — we aim to prevent children from drifting towards anti-social activity out of desperation, and instead help them grow into balanced, healthy, and skilled young adults who can give back to society.
